Youth Care – Enhance the lives of disadvantaged Community members

Aldeas de Paz – Empowering Communities, Enriching Lives

Welcome to Aldeas de Paz’s Community Attention Center (CAC) – Youth Care in Samana, a place where we uplift underprivileged communities through dedicated support and education. Our local team consists of teachers, therapists, social workers, and a pedagogue, all working together to foster community care for the youth, blending recreation, therapy, and education.

Education and Inclusion

At CAC, we prioritize education and inclusion, believing that every individual deserves a chance to thrive. Committed volunteers play a crucial role in providing one-on-one attention, offering tutoring sessions, and actively participating. Together with our local team, we extend our care beyond the center, conducting home visits to support beneficiaries in their own environments.

Supportive learning environment

Many children face challenges due to poor study habits or a lack of personalized support. Our warm and nurturing learning environment aims to foster success through encouragement and praise, empowering these children to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.

Join us at Aldeas de Paz – Youth Care and become part of a transformative journey, where you’ll make a lasting impact in the vibrant community of Samana.

    Therapy Students or Professionals

If you are a physio y/or occupational therapist your skills will be put to work for our children and young adults at the Therapy Center who are all facing different development challenges. The only medical center providing therapy for their special needs is too far away and too expensive for most of the families. Therefore, the pupils can only get the therapy they need with your help. Teaching some basic therapeutic methods and skills to the other volunteers working in the school would also be very supportive. Please contact us for more information.

Basic Spanish skills are required but there are many activities where very little Spanish is needed and even beginners can be involved with meaningful work. Additionally we offer free Spanish language classes on a regular basis. Enthusiasm, self-reliance, patience, and an open mind are essential. Experienced volunteers in teaching, working with children, or diverse challenges are encouraged to apply. Individuals, families, and groups of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.
