NGO Management & Administration

Use your creativity

Activities span from the micro-managment of daily activities to the macro-management of the organization as a whole.

Experience the day-to-day running of a small grassroots NGO.

Learn about an administrative position through hands-on experience.

This Observation program is perfect for those wanting to learn more about how an NGO is managed and those interested in starting or working in an NGO! The NGO Administration Volunteers would observe and assist the Volunteer Program Coordinator and the Aldeas de Paz director primarily in administrative work and community outreach.

The best and most amazing thing about this whole trip were all the people I worked/played with.
Dylan Jones / Phoenix, USA

A versatile program

The NGO Administration Volunteer program gives insight into all of the many facets of the running of the Aldeas de Paz Foundation. Primarily a volunteer support-focused position, this role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of the various ADP programs. ADP normally has anywhere between 3 and 15 volunteers working in the various programs and living on the Aldeas de Paz grounds, in hotels, or with host families. The NGO Administration volunteer will have a natural interest in meeting new people, be passionate about ensuring a positive experience for each volunteer and enjoy being called upon to assist with general administration of the foundation, as well as participating in each of the activities as necessary.

It’s possible to grow old, and still keep the ideas you had when you were 20 years old. You just have to never forget and always follow them.

A typical NGO administration & management volunteer needs to be enthusiastic, willing to learn, ready for a challenge and have a desire to take initiative in coordinating a group of volunteers and daily tasks. Friendliness, care, commitment and patience are among important qualities.

The participant would have a passion for development work, some experience in international volunteering, conversational or advanced Spanish and a desire to help other volunteers to have positive experiences with us.

Activities that a volunteer can participate in are entirely dependent on their proficiency in Spanish and previous experience. Staff and other volunteers will support the participant. A six weeks minimum time commitment is required.
